Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful (KMB)
Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful (also known as KMB) is a 501(c) affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, established in 2004. KMB is directly supported by Mecklenburg County Solid Waste Management Program that seeks to create a united community focused on environmental stewardship that will ensure a healthy life for all. To achieve this vision, KMB helps empower the residents of Mecklenburg County to take greater responsibility for enhancing their environment, thereby resulting in a community of pride and choice for people to live, work and recreate. KMB pursues five core values.

1. Environmental Stewardship
We value educating and encouraging all Mecklenburg County citizens by developing projects and programs that allow them to take proactive responsibility to reduce litter, increase recycling, and beautify the natural world.

We value building synergy between citizens and organizations to accomplish more in serving the greater good in order to create lasting change. We will form community partnerships and strategic alliances by leveraging citizens, businesses, and associations
